MONTREAL, Oct. 24 (UPI) -- Carey Price took a shutout into the third period and made 31 saves Thursday in carrying Montreal to a 4-1 triumph over Anaheim.

After winning seven of their first eight games this season, the Ducks have lost two in a row. Those setbacks have come in the first two outings of an eight-game road trip that extends through Nov. 4.

Price did not give up a goal until Patrick Maroon scored his first of the season and the third of his NHL career 8:58 into the third period.

Michael Bournival and Tomas Plekanec both tallied for the Canadiens in the first period and Brian Gionta extended the lead on the power play during the middle stanza.

After Maroon cut the Ducks' deficit to two, Rene Bourque finished the scoring on the power play.

Jonas Hiller allowed all four goals on 25 shots.
