NHL: Nashville 3, Winnipeg 1

WINNIPEG, Manitoba, Oct. 20 (UPI) -- Carter Hutton stopped 38-of-39 shots in his first career win Sunday, backstopping the Nashville Predators over Winnipeg 3-1.

Hutton, who allowed one goal on 22 shots in his Oct. 3 NHL debut against St. Louis, kept the Predators in the game as he stopped all 26 shots he faced over the first two periods.

Nashville broke a scoreless tie in the second period on unassisted goals from Eric Nystrom and Patric Hornqvist.

Matt Cullen also scored as the Preds notched a second straight road win and their fourth victory in five games overall.

Evander Kane scored in the third period and Ondrej Pavelec made 23 saves for the Jets, who were coming off a 4-3 Friday shootout win over the Blues.
