MLB: Cincinnati 6, Chicago Cubs 4 (11 innings)

CHICAGO, Aug. 14 (UPI) -- Shin-Soo Choo singled home a pair of runs in the 11th inning Tuesday, sending the Cincinnati Reds over the Chicago Cubs 6-4.

The Reds loaded the bases with none out in the 11th when Eduardo Sanchez (0-1) walked Ryan Ludwick and Devin Mesoraco and Cesar Izturis reached base on an error by third baseman Donnie Murphy.

That brought up Choo, who lined a solid hit to right field for a decisive two-run single.

Brandon Phillips went 3-for-6 with an RBI for Cincinnati, which improved to 12-3 against the Cubs this season.

J.J. Hoover (3-5) was credited with the win after 2 1/3 shutout relief innings and Aroldis Chapman fired a 1-2-3 bottom of the 11th for his 29th save as the Reds reeled off a sixth victory in seven games.

Murphy, Dioner Navarro and Nate Schierholtz each homered for Chicago.
