MLB: Minnesota 5, Chicago White Sox 2

CHICAGO, Aug. 11 (UPI) -- Kevin Correia struck out seven over seven scoreless innings Sunday, helping push Minnesota to a 5-2 victory over the Chicago White Sox.

The Twins scored all their runs in the fifth inning on homers by Brian Dozier and Joe Mauer and then relied on Correia to take three out of four in the series.

Correia (8-8) allowed five hits and walked just one in what was his longest outing in almost three months. Chicago's two runs came in the ninth against Casey Fien.

Dozier hit a three-run homer in the fifth and Mauer came through with a two-run blast. Both of those shots came off Jose Quintana (6-4).
