MLB: Pittsburgh 4, Miami 3

PITTSBURGH, Aug. 6 (UPI) -- Josh Harrison socked a pinch-hit, game-winning homer in the bottom of the ninth inning Tuesday, lifting the Pittsburgh Pirates over Miami 4-3.

The game had been knotted at 3-3 since the third, but Pittsburgh won it in the ninth when Harrison, batting for Garrett Jones, sliced a pitch from Mike Dunn (2-3) into the first row of the right field stands.

The clout made a winner of Bryan Morris (5-4), who tossed a scoreless top of the ninth, capping 3 1/3 shutout innings by the Bucs' bullpen.

Andrew McCutchen went 2-for-3 with a two-run double and Neil Walker added three hits for National League Central-leading Pittsburgh, which improved to a major-league best 68-44.

Donovan Solano supplied three hits with an RBI for the Marlins, who dropped the opener of a three-game series.
