MLB: Texas 14, Los Angeles Angels 11 (10 innings)

ARLINGTON, Texas, July 31 (UPI) -- A three-run homer by Leonys Martin in the 10th inning Tuesday powered the Texas Rangers to a 14-11 victory over the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim.

Martin launched a 2-1 fastball from Daniel Strange into the leftfield seats to give the Rangers back-to-back wins and consign Los Angeles to its fifth consecutive loss.

Geovany Soto also drove in three runs with a home run in the eighth inning after the Angels had scored four runs in the top of the frame to take a 9-5 lead.

Adrian Beltre went 3-for-5 with two RBI for Texas. Joe Nathan (2-1) earned the win after stranding two runners in the 10th.

Strange (0-1) took the loss after the dust settled on a contest in which Texas outhit the Angels 19-16.

Josh Hamilton led the Halos with four RBI. Mike Trout went 4-for-4 with an RBI and Howie Kendrick notched his 1,000th career hit.
