Corbin (11-1) allowed a run on seven hits to win back-to-back starts for the first time in a month. He compiled a 9-0 record through June 2 before enduring five no-decisions and a loss in six straight appearances.

David Hernandez came on in the ninth as the sixth Arizona pitcher and retired the side in order for his second save.

Arizona scored in the first inning when Paul Goldschmidt came in from third on a pickoff attempt by Tom Gorzelanny that got away for an error on the pitcher. A fielding error on first baseman Yuniesky Betancourt in the second inning allowed Cody Ross to score the second Arizona run.

Gorzelanny (1-3) allowed only three hits in six innings, but still suffered the loss.
