WASHINGTON, May 19 (UPI) -- Kyle Porter scored his first MLS goal Sunday and D.C. United snapped a seven-game losing streak with a 1-1 draw against Sporting Kansas City.
United had surrendered a 1-0 lead in the 60th minute when defender Ethan White scored an own-goal after Ike Opara's header glanced off him and into the net.

But D.C. responded 5 minutes later as Porter slid to redirect a Chris Pontius cross past Kansas City goalkeeper Jimmy Nielsen.
The result gave United (1-8-2) their first point since a March 16 draw against New York.
SKC (6-4-3) got two saves from Nielsen in the tie.
