MEMPHIS, April 26 (UPI) -- Zach Randolph broke loose for 27 points Thursday and Memphis went to the foul line 38 times in a bruising 94-82 win over the Los Angeles Clippers.
The Grizzlies cut their deficit in the Western Conference quarterfinal series to 2-1 and will try to even things when they host Game 4 Saturday.
Randolph was held to 13 points in each of the first two games of the series, but made half his 18 field goal attempts in this contest while his teammates struggled. Memphis shot just 38 percent and made only 4-of-16 from 3-point range, but took advantage of its parade to the free throw line.
Chris Paul, who made an acrobatic layup at the end of the second game of the series to give the Clippers a two-point victory, managed only eight points while hitting 4-of-11. Blake Griffin led the Clippers with 16 points.
