ATLANTA, April 4 (UPI) -- Cliff Lee worked eight innings and teamed with Jonathan Papelbon on a two-hit shutout Thursday, lifting Philadelphia over Atlanta 2-0.
Lee allowed the two hits by the Braves and struck out eight in what was the Phillies' first win of the season. Lee did not record a victory last year until July 4.

The Phillies scratched out two runs in the second inning, one of them scoring on a bases-loaded fielder's choice grounder off the bat of Ben Revere. Chase Utley drove in the other run with a sacrifice fly.
Those runs were charged to Atlanta starter Kris Medlen, who gave up six hits over five innings. Medlen went 10-1 last year.
