Recari jumps in women's golf rankings

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla., March 25 (UPI) -- Beatriz Recari jumps to No. 26 in the world women's golf ranking after winning the LPGA's Kia Classic.

Recari defeated I.K. Kim with a birdie on the second playoff hole Sunday in winning her second LPGA title. Her first came in October 2010.

The championship pushes her up 19 spots from 45th in the rankings, which were updated Monday.

There were slight changes in the Top 10 with Ai Miyazato edging Jiyai Shin for the No. 6 spot and Paula Creamer passing Mika Miyazato to re-enter the Top 10.

Stacy Lewis, who tied for ninth at the Kia Classic, remains ranked No. 1 with a rankings points average of 9.76. Yani Tseng is second at 9.08 and Choi Na-yeon comes in third at 8.42.

Inbee Park (7.94) is again fourth with Feng Shanshan in fifth at 6.51.

Ai Miyazato's average is 6.38, just better than Shin's 6.37 but still improving her to No. 6 in the rankings. Shin is seventh. Suzann Pettersen is eighth at 6.13 and Ryu So-yeon (5.88) takes the No. 9 position.

Creamer, ranked 10th, has an average of 4.95, forcing Mika Miyazato (4.92) to 11th.
