INDIAN WELLS, Calif., March 13 (UPI) -- Novak Djokovic rallied to beat Grigor Dimitrov of Russia 7-6 (4), 6-1 Tuesday in the third round of the BNP Paribas Open in Southern California.
The top-seeded Serb and World No. 1 bounced back from a 5-2 deficit in the first set to even the score and then won it in a tiebreaker, which set the stage for an easy second set.
Djokovic, who is 13-0 this year, remained on track for his third tournament title of the year and third championship at the Indian Wells event.
Next up for Djokovic will be 23rd-seeded American Sam Querrey, who survived a nearly 3-hour match against Australian Marinko Matosevic 7-6 (5), 6-7 (7), 7-5. Querry was the last ATP player to beat Djokovic by scoring a second-round upset at the BNP Paribas Masters in November.
Also advancing Tuesday were third-seeded Andy Murray, who topped Taiwan's Yen-Hsun Lu 6-3, 6-2, and Frenchman Jo-Wilfried Tsonga, who rallied to beat Mardy Fish of the United States 7-6(4), 7-6(0).
