
JERSEY CITY, N.J., Feb. 7 (UPI) -- A New Jersey man has been charged with stabbing a friend of Tennessee Titans wide receiver Kenny Britt, who drove the victim to a hospital.
Domingo Severino, 28, of Passaic was arrested Wednesday in Jersey City, The Jersey Journal reported. He has been charged with aggravated assault and weapons offenses.
Frederick Gonzalez was attacked Jan. 13 in Jersey City outside the house where he and Britt had just had dinner. Britt was not present during the assault but came out of the house to find his friend wounded and drove him to the Jersey City Medical Center.
Police said Britt has been asked to talk to detectives investigating the attack.
Britt, 24, was a football star at Bayonne High School, just south of Jersey City, and at Rutgers, New Jersey's state university. He
has a history of arrests for offenses including drunken driving, marijuana possession and a police chase through Bayonne.
