NHL: Tampa Bay 8, Winnipeg 3

TAMPA, Fla., Feb. 1 (UPI) -- Cory Conacher scored two of the six goals Tampa Bay produced over the first two periods Friday in sending the Lightning coasting past Winnipeg 8-3.

Tampa Bay built a 6-0 lead heading into the third period, scoring three times in each of the first two stanzas. All of the Lightning's goals in the first period came on the power play.

Conacher delivered his fourth and fifth goals of the season during the outburst, Steven Stamkos had his fourth and Vincent Lecavalier scored his fourth.

Nate Thompson and Teddy Purcell added Tampa Bay scores in the second period and Ryan Malone and Benoit Pouliot tallied in the third.

It was Tampa Bay's fifth straight win and the Lightning have captured all of their five home contests.

Anders Lindback picked up the easy victory by making 26 saves, finally giving up his first goal 5:34 into the third period. After allowing up five goals on 14 shots, Ondrej Pavelec was taken out of the Winnipeg goal in favor of Al Montoya.
