NBA: Chicago 85, Detroit 82

CHICAGO, Jan. 23 (UPI) -- A 3-point play by Marco Belinelli with 8 seconds remaining Wednesday boosted Chicago to its fifth win in six games, an 85-82 triumph over Detroit.

The Bulls had a six-point lead heading into the final 4 minutes, but Detroit tied it at 82-82 with 32 seconds to go on a layup by Jason Maxiel.

Chicago worked the ball to Belinelli and his first attempt misfired. Joakim Noah, however, was there to grab the offensive rebound and he got the ball to Belinelli for a layup attempt.

That shot was good and came as he was being fouled by Rodney Stuckey. The ensuing free throw put the Bulls in front by three and they survived a 3-point attempt by Stuckey at the buzzer.

Six Chicago players reached double figures with Jimmy Butler scoring 18 points and Carlos Boozer producing 16.

Brandon Knight led Detroit with 13 points. The Pistons had won their previous two outings.
