NBA: New Orleans 104, Minnesota 92

NEW ORLEANS, Jan. 11 (UPI) -- Greivis Vasquez ignited a New Orleans comeback Friday that brought the Hornets their fourth straight victory in a 104-92 decision over Minnesota.

The winning streak is the longest of the season for a team that had just seven victories in its first 32 games.

Minnesota roared to a 17-point lead with 6:30 to go in the first half, but New Orleans cut its deficit to six by intermission and then dominated the third quarter.

Vasquez scored 18 points and had 13 assists with Eric Gordon adding 16 points and Ryan Anderson contributing 15. The Hornets shot 52 percent from the field and pulled out the win despite making 18 fewer free throws than the Timberwolves.

Luke Ridnour scored 20 points for Minnesota, which will have to play for as many as 8 weeks without injured star forward Kevin Love.
