MLB: San Francisco 7, San Diego 5

SAN DIEGO, Sept. 30 (UPI) -- Hunter Pence rallied San Francisco with a go-ahead, two-run homer in the ninth inning Sunday and the Giants emerged with a 7-5 win over San Diego.

Xavier Nady began the comeback earlier in the ninth with a pinch-hit solo homer against Padres closer Huston Street (2-1) that tied the game at 5-5.

Then, after Francisco Peguero reached with an infield hit, Pence pounded a Street pitch over the wall in the decisive blow for the National League West champions.

Sergio Romo collected his 13th save of the season, nailing down a victory for Shane Loux (1-0).

Chase Headley, Logan Forsythe Yasmani Grandal all homered for the Padres.
