CLEVELAND, Aug. 12 (UPI) -- Adrian Gonzalez homered and drove in four runs Sunday, leading a 16-hit assault that powered the Boston Red Sox to a 14-1 rout of Cleveland.

The Red Sox did most of the damage with an eight-run fifth inning, during which they sent 14 men to the plate, pounded out six hits and drew four walks.

Carl Crawford supplied three hits and three RBI, Jacoby Ellsbury added a pair of hits -- including a two-run double -- and Mike Aviles went 3-for-3 with three runs scored as the Red Sox earned a four-game split with the Indians.

Jon Lester (6-10) notched his first win since June 27, a span of seven starts, striking out 12 over six one-run innings. The left-hander allowed three hits and walked two.

Tribe starter Corey Kluber (0-1) was rocked for six runs on seven hits in a 3 1/3-inning stint.

Carlos Santana got Cleveland's only RBI.
