Three minutes later, Shea Salinas came in unmarked on a break down the right side, with MLS leading scorer Chris Wondolowski beside him to the left. Salinas attempted to pass to his teammate but defender Matt Hedges got a foot on it.

The ball kicked up toward the net, but Hartman managed to get a hand on it for Dallas (3-9-7), which extended its winless streak to 13 games with the draw.

The Western Conference-leading Earthquakes (11-4-4) were shut out on the road for the first time this season.
