The right-hander walked only one and struck out six as the Tigers evened their three-game set.

Cabrera's solo clout in the first inning put Detroit ahead to stay while Austin Jackson and Prince Fielder added RBI.

Colorado starter Christian Friedrich (4-3) allowed five walks in a five-inning stint, yielding three runs (two earned) on three hits.

Carlos Gonzalez went 3-for-4 and Michael Cuddyer drove in the only run for the Rockies.
