GALLOWAY, N.J., June 1 (UPI) -- Stacy Lewis, seeking her second victory of the year, shot a 6-under 65 Friday that gave her a share of the first-round lead at the ShopRite LPGA Classic.

Lewis was tied with Mika Miyazato, two shots in front of Paula Creamer and Mariajo Uribe and three ahead of Maude-Aimee LeBlanc.

Those in a tie for sixth at 2-under 69 included 17-year-old Lexi Thompson. Yani Tseng, who has a large lead at the top of the world rankings, settled for a 71 at the Stockton Seaview Golf Club.

Lewis, who won this year at the Mobile Bay Classic, survived a double-bogey at the par-4 second -- her 11th hole of the day. She then eagled the par-5 third and recorded three birdies the rest of the way.

Defending champion Brittany Lincicome shot a 72 and Michelle Wie continued to struggle with a 78. She has missed the cut in each of her last three starts.
