MLB: New York Yankees 9, Oakland 2

OAKLAND, Calif., May 26 (UPI) -- Mark Teixeira went 4-for-5 with a pair of homers and five RBI Saturday, powering the New York Yankees to a 9-2 win over Oakland.

Teixeira's solo shot in the fourth broke a 2-2 tie and put the Yankees ahead to stay. His two-run blast in the ninth capped New York's scoring.

He also had a two-run single, while Robinson Cano added three hits, an RBI and scored three runs for the Yankees, clinched their three-game series in Oakland.

CC Sabathia (6-2) broke a personal two-game losing streak, holding the A's to two runs on seven hits over seven innings. The Yankees' ace walked two and struck out four.

A's starter Bartolo Colon (4-5) was manhandled for six runs on six hits in a six-inning effort.

Josh Reddick and Jonny Gomes each drove in a run for Oakland.
