MLB: Colorado 6, Cincinnati 3

CINCINNATI, May 25 (UPI) -- Todd Helton's first-inning two-run homer and his single in the fifth Friday put the Colorado Rockies ahead for good on their way to a 6-3 win over Cincinnati.

Colorado has won two straight after dropping six consecutive games.

The Rockies took an early 3-0 lead only to have Cincinnati tie it with a three-run fourth featuring Ryan Ludwick's RBI double and Todd Frazier's two-run, two-base hit.

Colorado regained the lead in the fifth when Carlos Gonzalez led off with a double, moved to third on an infield single by Troy Tulowitzki and scored on a single to center by Helton.

Tulowitzki came in later in the inning on a double by Jordan Pacheco and Tulowitzki singled home Gonzalez in the ninth to finish the scoring.

Christian Friedrich (2-1) gave up three runs on seven hits in five innings to pick up the victory. Rafael Betancourt worked a perfect ninth for his eighth save.

The loss went to Johnny Cueto (5-2), who allowed five runs on 11 hits in 4 2/3 innings.
