Arencibia drove in six runs overall and in his last three games has had four homers and 10 RBI. He added a solo shot in the third and delivered a two-run single during Toronto's four-run sixth.

Davis hit a two-run homer in both the third and fifth innings.

The offensive outburst made an easy winner out of Ricky Romero (5-1), who allowed a lone run on three hits over six innings. New York produced a four-run eighth against the Toronto bull pen, three of the runs coming on a homer by Scott Hairston.

Jonathon Niese (2-2) was roughed up for eight runs on eight hits in three innings to take the loss.
