NBA: Boston 107, Philadelphia 91

PHILADELPHIA, May 16 (UPI) -- Kevin Garnett ignited a sizzling Boston shooting performance Wednesday that brought the Celtics a 107-91 win over Philadelphia and a 2-1 playoff series lead.

Garnett, limited to 15 points in Philadelphia's win in Boston Monday, scored 27 points while hitting 10 of his first 13 attempts from the field. He wound up making 12-of-17 from the floor and the Celtics hit 57 percent through the game's first three quarters.

Paul Pierce and Rajon Rondo teamed with Garnett to produce 74 points as the Celtics regained control of the series. Game 4 of the Eastern Conference semifinals will be played Friday in Philadelphia.

The 76ers jumped to a five-point lead after one quarter and then were overwhelmed by Boston's hot shooting. The Celtics outscored Philadelphia by 28 points during the middle two quarters, dominating despite the 76ers hitting 8-of-14 shots from 3-point range.

Garnett added 13 rebounds, Pierce had 24 points and 12 boards and Rondo contributed 23 points along with 14 assists.

Thaddeus Young came off the bench to pace Philadelphia with 22 points. The 76ers' starters totaled just 36 points.
