MLB: Los Angeles Dodgers 6, San Diego 1

LOS ANGELES, April 15 (UPI) -- Matt Kemp blasted a pair of two-run homers Saturday and the Los Angeles Dodgers stayed hot with a 6-1 victory over San Diego.

Andre Ethier added a solo shot as the Dodgers won their fifth straight game and improved to 8-1 to begin the season -- their best start since their World Championship season of 1981.

Ted Lilly (1-0) earned the victory, allowing just one unearned run on two hits and one walk over seven frames. He struck out four in his first start of the year following a stint on the disabled list.

The Dodgers spoiled the major league debut of touted Padres prospect Joe Wieland (0-1), who surrendered six runs over five innings, allowing six hits, two walks and one strikeout.
