Feng reaches Top 10 in women's golf

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla., March 26 (UPI) -- Chinese player Feng Shanshan has reached the Top 10 in the world women's golf rankings, which are still dominated by Yani Tseng.

Feng finished tied for third in last week's Kia Classic, a stop of the LPGA Tour in California, and that pushed her to 10th in the world rankings from12th a week ago. It was her second Top 10 finish in an LPGA event this year.

Tseng won the tournament by six strokes. It was her second consecutive win and ninth in the last nine months. That strengthened her position at the top of the rankings. Her ranking average of 18.30 is more than twice that of No. 2-ranked Choi Na-yeon. (9.04).

Suzann Pettersen is third with an average of 8.11, with Cristie Kerr in fourth at 7.79 and Ahn Sun-ju (6.68) in fifth.

Jiyai Shin, who tied Feng for third at the Kia Classic, improves two places to No. 6 with an average of 6.59, barely ahead of No. 7-ranked Ai Miyazato (6.58).

Paula Creamer (6.41) slides two spots to No. 8 while Stacy Lewis (6.15) holds onto the ninth spot. No. 10 Feng's average is 6.00.
