Vikings' Asher Allen retires at age 24

ST. LOUIS, Feb. 11 (UPI) -- Les Snead is leaving the Atlanta Falcons to become general manager of the St. Louis Rams, the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reported Saturday.
The newspaper said multiple league sources said Snead, who has been Atlanta's director of player personnel, would replace Billy Devaney as the Rams' GM.
George Paton, Minnesota's director of player personnel, had been considered the front-runner, but the Vikings hung on to him by promoting him assistant general manager, the Post-Dispatch said.
Devaney, fired Jan. 2 along with Coach Steve Spagnuolo.
