ANAHEIM, Calif., Feb. 9 (UPI) -- Corey Perry fired a slap shot past Cam Ward 2:14 into overtime Wednesday, giving Anaheim a 3-2 victory over Carolina.

The Ducks have won 11 of their last 15 in a bid to save their season. Anaheim is still eight points out of a playoff position. The Hurricanes missed out on a chance to win three in a row for the first time since October.

Anaheim did not lead until Perry's blast gave him his 23rd goal of the season.

Tuomo Ruutu scored for Carolina with 2:03 left in the opening period, but Anaheim tied it on Nick Bonino's tip-in late in the second.

The Hurricanes moved in front again 3:47 into the third on a goal from Eric Staal and Saku Koivu created a 2-2 deadlock 1:24 later.

Jonas Hiller stopped 31 shots to get the win. Ward also had 31 saves.
