FOXBOROUGH, Mass., Jan. 15 (UPI) -- Tom Brady hurled six TD passes Saturday, tying an NFL record and leading New England to a 45-10 rout of Denver in an AFC divisional playoff game.
Brady's half-dozen scoring strikes equaled the mark for most touchdown passes in a post-season game, tying Oakland's Daryle Lamonica and Steve Young of San Francisco in that regard.
The Patriots will host either Baltimore or Houston in next week's AFC title game.
Brady went 18-of-25 passing for 246 yards, hooking up with Rob Gronkowski (10 catches, 145 yards) for three TDs. His 19-yard strike to the tight end with 5 seconds left in the first half put the Patriots up 35-7.
The New England signal-caller tied the NFL record on a 17-yard score early in the third quarter to Aaron Hernandez.
Denver's Tim Tebow ran out of miracle comebacks against New England, going 9-of-26 passing for 138 yards.
