Vikings' Asher Allen retires at age 24

MONTREAL, Jan. 10 (UPI) -- Jaroslav Halak stopped 19 shots Tuesday for his second shutout of the season and the St. Louis Blues beat Montreal 3-0.
Halak -- playing in Montreal for the first time since the Canadiens traded him to St. Louis -- got a standing ovation from Montreal fans. He was a vital part of the Canadiens' rise from eighth seed to Eastern Conference finalist in 2010.
Jason Arnott, David Backes and Christ Stewart scored, and Backes and Stewart each had an assist for St. Louis.
Carey Price let in three goals on 25 shots for Montreal.
