CHICAGO, Dec. 23 (UPI) -- An Illinois judge said former NBA all-star Antoine Walker's pending bankruptcy case is preventing action on allegations he failed to pay child support.

Donna Grant, the mother of Walker's youngest teenage daughter, is accusing Walker of failing to pay his $4,195 monthly child support payments for more than two years and $27,817 in tuition to the University of Chicago Laboratory Schools, the Chicago Tribune reported Friday.

The judge, in Cook County Circuit Court, said Thursday no action can be taken on the matter due to Walker's pending bankruptcy case. Officials said a federal judge will have to decide whether to follow through on Grant's complaint while the bankruptcy case remains unsettled.

Grant said her daughter will be kicked out of school if the tuition money is not paid by the end of the month.

"It's not about him, it's just for my daughter's education," she said. "I just want her to stay in school. I don't want her to have to transfer. Her education is important, and it's not being treated like it's important."

Walker played for Boston, Dallas, Atlanta, Miami and Minnesota in the NBA between 1996 and 2008.
