TORONTO, Dec. 19 (UPI) -- Dustin Brown scored in regulation and collected the only goal in a shootout Monday, boosting the Los Angeles Kings to a 3-2 win over Toronto.
Maple Leafs goalie James Reimer stopped Anze Kopitar in the tiebreaker but Brown then unleashed a shot in the third round that rang off the post, beating Reimer on the glove side for the game winner.
Kings goalie Jonathan Quick made a poke-check on Joffrey Lupul during the shootout and turned aside 31-of-33 shots to earn the win.
Justin Williams also scored for Los Angeles, which has gone 2-2-0 in four games under interim head Coach John Stevens.
Darryl Sutter is expected to be introduced as the Kings' new head coach Tuesday or Wednesday.
John-Michael Liles and Matt Frattin scored and Reimer finished with 40 saves for the Maple Leafs, who fell to 2-5-3 in their last 10 home games.
