NHL: Los Angeles 3, Toronto 2 (SO)

TORONTO, Dec. 19 (UPI) -- Dustin Brown scored in regulation and collected the only goal in a shootout Monday, boosting the Los Angeles Kings to a 3-2 win over Toronto.

Maple Leafs goalie James Reimer stopped Anze Kopitar in the tiebreaker but Brown then unleashed a shot in the third round that rang off the post, beating Reimer on the glove side for the game winner.

Kings goalie Jonathan Quick made a poke-check on Joffrey Lupul during the shootout and turned aside 31-of-33 shots to earn the win.

Justin Williams also scored for Los Angeles, which has gone 2-2-0 in four games under interim head Coach John Stevens.

Darryl Sutter is expected to be introduced as the Kings' new head coach Tuesday or Wednesday.

John-Michael Liles and Matt Frattin scored and Reimer finished with 40 saves for the Maple Leafs, who fell to 2-5-3 in their last 10 home games.
