ST. PAUL, Minn., Oct. 15 (UPI) -- Johan Franzen completed a Detroit rally by scoring with 49 seconds left in overtime Saturday, giving the Red Wings a 3-2 victory over Minnesota.
Franzen's power-play tally kept Detroit unbeaten in four games this season.
The Wild opened a 2-0 lead early in the second period, but could not get another shot by Jimmy Howard. Minnesota managed only 14 shots on goal for the entire game in losing for the third time in five outings.
Greg Zanon scored for Minnesota with 12 seconds left in the first period and Cal Clutterbuck made it 2-0 a mere 16 seconds into the middle stanza.
Ian White started the Detroit comeback by scoring on a wrist shot with 48 seconds to go in the second and Jiri Hudler tied it on a tip-in 3:46 into the third.
Franzen's winning goal came with Matt Cullen in the penalty box for tripping. Josh Harding stopped 38-of-41 shots for the Wild.
