CARSON, Calif., Sept. 18 (UPI) -- Mike Magee opened and closed the scoring for Los Angeles Saturday and the Galaxy moved closer to the best record in MLS with a 3-0 win over Vancouver.
Los Angeles became the first team in the league to clinch a playoff spot last week and reached 58 points with its fourth win in five games. The Galaxy (16-3-10) maintained a seven-point lead over Seattle for the top spot in the league standings.

Magee began the scoring in the 40th minute and gave Los Angeles a 3-0 lead in the 75th minute.
Robbie Keane, who assisted on Magee's first goal, scored in the 64th minute.
Vancouver (4-14-10) has the worst MLS record in its first season in the league.
