CHICAGO, Sept. 14 (UPI) -- Carlos Guillen's run-scoring single in the 10th inning handed Detroit its 12th straight win and the Tigers rallied for 6-5 victory over the Chicago White Sox.
Detroit scored three times in the ninth to forge a tie then stunned Chicago with another run in the 10th in winning a 12th straight game for the first time since 1934.
Victor Martinez stroked a one-out double in the 10th off Sergio Santos (4-5) and came home with the go-ahead run when Guillen (3-for-5, homer, two RBI) followed with a sharp grounder up the middle.
