MLS: San Jose 1, Toronto FC 1 (tie)

TORONTO, Aug. 27 (UPI) -- Chris Wondolowski scored in the 87th minute Saturday, boosting the San Jose Earthquakes into a 1-1 tie with Toronto FC.

Toronto appeared on the way to a 1-0 victory when, with just a few minutes left in the match, Wondolowski controlled a headed pass from Bobby Burling and booted home his ninth goal of the season.

The late tally earned San Jose (5-10-11) a share of the points. The Quakes haven't won an MLS game since early June.

Eric Avila scored for TFC (4-12-12) just after the 30-minute mark, running onto a lucky bounce just outside the area and firing a shot inside the left post.
