MLB: San Diego 5, Florida 3

MIAMI, July 21 (UPI) -- Cameron Maybin had four hits and scored twice Thursday in helping the San Diego Padres finish off a three-game sweep with a 5-3 win over Florida.

San Diego's victory was tempered, however, by an apparent neck injury suffered by second baseman Orlando Hudson.

Hudson collided with a wall while trying to catch a pop fly in foul territory. He lay motionless on the field for several minutes before being fitted with a neck brace and placed on a stretcher.

Hudson was taken to a hospital for tests and observation.

Dustin Moseley (3-9) went six innings to get the win. The three runs scored against Moseley, all in the fifth, were unearned. Heath Bell struck out two in the ninth for his 28th save.

The loss was suffered by Javier Vazquez (6-9), who surrendered five runs on eight hits in 4 1/3 innings.

Florida had won nine out of 10 coming into the series with the Padres.
