PITTSBURGH, June 12 (UPI) -- Chris Capuano hurled seven shutout innings and Jose Reyes homered among his three hits Sunday in the New York Mets' 7-0 whitewash of Pittsburgh.
Capuano (5-6) allowed only three hits over his seven frames, walking two and fanning five while leading the Mets to their second win in three games against the Pirates.
The left-hander won consecutive starts for the first time since April 2007, when he was a member of the Milwaukee Brewers.
Jason Isringhausen and Bobby Parnell completed the shutout with one scoreless frame apiece.
Reyes went 3-for-5 with two runs scored and Carlos Beltran highlighted a big eighth inning with a two-run single as the Mets scored four times to break open a close game.
Pittsburgh's Kevin Correia (8-5) failed in his bid to become the second National League pitcher with nine wins, yielding four runs on seven hits before exiting after 7 2/3 frames.
