DUSSELDORF, Germany, May 21 (UPI) -- Germany's men's doubles team beat Argentina in Saturday's championship round of the World Team Cup in Dusseldorf.
The 6-3, 7-6 (7-5) win by Philipp Kohlschreiber and Philipp Petzschner over Juan Ignacio Chela and Maximo Gonzalez proved to be the decider in the French Open tune-up after the two nations split their two singled matches.
Germany's Florian Mayer defeated Juan Monaco 7-6 (7-4), 6-0 in the first match. Chela beat Kohlschreiber in the second singles match 6-3, 7-6 (7-4).
It was the fifth World Team Cup championship for the Germans. Argentina was the defending champion.
