MLB: Los Angeles Dodgers 6, Atlanta 1

LOS ANGELES, April 21 (UPI) -- Juan Uribe had a two-run single in each of the first two innings Wednesday to lead the Los Angeles Dodgers to a 6-1 victory over Atlanta.

Jon Garland (1-1) went the distance for the first time in two seasons and for the 11th time in his 12-year career, as Los Angeles built a 5-0 lead through two innings and coasted behind Garland's four-hit pitching. He walked two and struck out four while throwing 108 pitches.

Uribe's key hits both came with two outs and both drove in Casey Blake and Andre Ethier.

Ethier homered in the fourth, his third of the season, and finished with two RBI.

The lone Atlanta run came in the third on a sacrifice fly by Martin Prado.

Derek Lowe (2-3) took the loss, giving up five runs on nine hits in just three innings.

The Dodgers appeared unaffected by the news earlier in the day that Major League Baseball would be taking over all business and day-to-day operations of the team. Commissioner Bud Selig said he would appoint a representative to run the club because of concerns involving the team's operations under owner Frank McCourt.
