ST. PETERSBURG, Fla., April 19 (UPI) -- James Shields threw a complete-game four-hitter Monday and the Tampa Bay Rays dealt the Chicago White Sox their sixth straight loss in a 2-1 decision.

Shields (1-1) notched his first complete game since June 10, 2008, limiting the Chisox to one run, walking one and striking out nine in a dominating, 105-pitch performance.

Sean Rodriguez knocked in the go-ahead run with a fifth-inning triple and Felipe Lopez added an RBI for the Rays, who logged their seventh win in eight games after getting off to a rocky 1-8 start.

John Danks (0-2) absorbed the hard-luck loss, yielding two runs on seven hits in a seven-inning start for the White Sox, who haven't won since April 12.

A.J. Pierzynski drove in Chicago's only run with a fifth-inning single.
