James, Lowry earn NBA weekly honors

NEW YORK, March 21 (UPI) -- Miami Heat forward LeBron James and Houston Rockets guard Kyle Lowry Monday were chosen NBA Players of the Week.

James earned Eastern Conference honors, his fifth award of the season. He averaged 29.0 points, 5.5 rebounds and 4.0 assists for the week ending Sunday while pacing his team to a 3-1 record.

Lowry, meanwhile, helped boost Houston to 4-0 mark with per-game averages of 19.3 points, 7.5 assists and 7.3 rebounds in taking the Western Conference award.

He completed his first-ever triple-double in Sunday's 110-108 win over Utah with 28 points, 11 rebounds and 10 assists.

Other nominated were Miami's Chris Bosh and Dwyane Wade, Oklahoma City's Kevin Durant, Orlando's Dwight Howard and Sacramento's Samuel Dalembert.
