Sharks' Heatley draws 2-game suspension

SAN JOSE, Calif., March 16 (UPI) -- San Jose Sharks forward Dany Heatley has been suspended two games for a hit on Steve Ott of the Dallas Stars, the NHL announced Wednesday.

Heatley was sanctioned for delivering an elbow to Ott's head late in the third period of Tuesday's 6-3 Sharks victory.

The San Jose winger was called for 2-minute interference penalty on the play.

He will miss his team's games Thursday against Minnesota and Saturday against St. Louis.

Heatley, the Sharks' second-leading scorer, has 24 goals and 34 assists in 71 games this season.
