TORONTO, Feb. 26 (UPI) -- Alex Kovalev found the net for his new team in a shootout Saturday, handing the Pittsburgh Penguins a 6-5 victory over Toronto.

Kovalev, whom the Pens picked up from Ottawa in a trade this week, rang a shot off the right post and into the net in the fourth round of a scoreless tiebreaker, enabling Pittsburgh to bust a four-game losing streak.

Marc-Andre Fleury made the advantage hold up when he stopped Mikhail Grabovski's last-chance attempt to extend the tiebreaker.

The goals came at furious pace early in the third period, when the two teams combined to score five times within a span of 6:16. The Penguins' Michael Rupp forged a tie with the last of the tallies.

Mark Letestu had a goal and an assist, Maxime Talbot added a shorthanded goal and Fleury made 26 saves for Pittsburgh.

Joffrey Lupul scored twice and James Reimer stopped 35 shots for Toronto.
