NHL: Edmonton 4, Montreal 1

EDMONTON, Alberta, Feb. 18 (UPI) -- Jordan Eberle touched off a three-goal third period with a go-ahead score for Edmonton Thursday, boosting the Oilers to a 4-1 decision over Montreal.

Edmonton has won consecutive games for the first time since it put together a four-game winning streak that ended Dec. 4.

Ales Hemsky scored the first of his two goals in the opening period, but Montreal tied it in the second on a score from Jeff Halpern.

Edmonton then dominated the final period, starting with Eberle's wrist shot 3:58 into the stanza. Ryan Jones scored 15 seconds later and Hemsky finished things off with an empty-net goal with 54 seconds to play.

Nikolai Khabibulin stopped 36-of-37 shots for the win.

Carey Price allowed three goals on 27 shots for Montreal, which has lost five out of six.
