COL BKB: Louisville 73, Syracuse 69

LOUISVILLE, Ky., Feb. 12 (UPI) -- Kyle Kuric scored 23 points and Preston Knowles had 22 to lead No. 15 Louisville to a 73-69 victory over Big East rival Syracuse Saturday.

Terrance Jennings added 13 for the Cardinals (19-6, 8-4 Big East), who withstood a late surge by the Orange (20-6, 7-6) for their fourth win in their last six games.

Louisville made good use of the 3-point line Saturday, sinking 13-of-27 from beyond the arc. The Cardinals led the Big East with an average of nine treys per game and reached that number in the first half.

Knowles had seven 3-pointers and Kuric hit five for the Cardinals, who shot 51.1 percent from the field and led 40-30 at halftime.

Syracuse had 21 points from Brandon Triche and 20 from Scoop Jardine. The Orange outscored Louisville 39-33 in the second half but fell for the sixth time in eight games.
