CHICAGO, Jan. 9 (UPI) -- Marian Hossa notched a goal and two assists and Corey Crawford shut out the New York Islanders Sunday in a 5-0 Chicago Blackhawks victory.

After Patrick Sharp got his 25th goal of the season in the first period for a 1-0 Chicago lead, Hossa doubled the advantage 2 minutes into the middle frame, taking a pass from Tomas Kopecky in the left circle and firing it past Nathan Lawson.

Patrick Kane, Dave Bolland and Niklas Hjalmarsson all found the net in the second period and Crawford turned aside all 29 shots he faced for his first shutout this season and the second of his career for Chicago.

Lawson, making only his third NHL start, was peppered with 45 Chicago shots as the Islanders lost for only the fourth time in 12 games.
