NHL: Dallas 4, Chicago 2

CHICAGO, Jan. 5 (UPI) -- Mike Ribeiro's second goal of the game broke a third-period tie Wednesday and helped lift the Dallas Stars to a 4-2 victory over Chicago.

The Stars let a two-goal lead get away before dominating the third period and picking up their second straight win.

Ribeiro and Brenden Morrow scored in the first period but Chicago came back to tie it in the second on goals from Fernando Pisani and Tomas Kopecky.

It was still a 2-2 contest when Ribeiro scored on the power play with 9:14 remaining in regulation. Steve Ott put the puck into an empty net with 1:01 to seal Dallas' sixth straight road victory.

Kari Lehtonen got the win with 35 saves.

Corey Crawford stopped 21 shots for the Blackhawks, who have lost four times in five outings.
